about

One afternoon many years ago at the dawn of the digital music age, Colin and I set up a microphone, clicked record on a Mac PowerBook G3 and started making noise. There was a piano, a kid’s Casio, a DX-7, an Irish hand drum, and some finger cymbals. This song is what popped out and it sat around for years on different disk drives around New York City.

I’ve known Colin for 30 years now and I can tell you that Colin is one tenacious mother. He remembers pretty much everything—long forgotten bits of conversation, obscure banjo players, bits of music, scraps of lyrics, the name of some guy in a bar who said something funny in 1998, and most amazingly, the crazy dream of making music. He pulled this little nugget of inspiration out of a dusty corner in some crumbling disk drive in his closet. I’m glad he did. It’s perfect.
